Valentine’s Day: What is Love?

With Today being Valentine’s Day I decided to scour the internet and poll my friends to find clever definitions and phrases about love.  These were my favorites.  Do you have any more that you would like to share?  If so, leave them in the comment section.

Love Is…

  • The one word that frees us of all the weight and pain of life
  • Never having to say you’re sorry
  • The only true adventure
  • Like waking up to Christmas morning everyday
  • Friendship set on fire
  • Like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away
  • To be in a state of perceptual anesthesia
  • Everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it…It really is worth fighting for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more
  • Master key that opens the gate of happiness
  • Like war, easy to begin but hard to end
  • The irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired
  • More than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day
  • To receive a glimpse of heaven
  • An act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit
  • Like a violin. The music may stop now and then, but the strings remain forever
  • The only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence
  • The only reflection of man’s worth
  • Not what makes the world go round, it is what makes the ride worthwhile
  • Is the soul of genius
  • Not blind — it simply enables one to see things others fail to see.
  • All you need
  • An ocean of emotions entirely surrounded by expenses
  • Like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen
  • Composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies
