Amy Winehouse Death: Details Emerge

Amy Winehouse’s autopsy results are in and sadly they are “inconclusive.
The latest on the late “Rehab” singer’s tragic passing was made available by a family friend/rep of Amy – as Chris Goodman tells that she was found lying in bed by a security staffer.

In a statement to press, Goodman told,

“She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he [the security guard] went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing.  “He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.”

According to TMZ, the 27-year-old singer showed “signs of life” upon the arrival of paramedics at her London home on Saturday afternoon (July 23).  Not going into any further detail, the TMZ insider continued to tell that Amy passed on before the medical personnel were able to transport her to a medical facility.

Of the situation, London Police Superintendent Raj Kohli stated, “Next of kin have been informed, and I can confirm that officers are now satisfied that the deceased is Amy Winehouse.”

Kohli added, “I am aware of reports suggesting this death is the result of a suspected drugs overdose, but I would like to re-emphasize that no post-mortem examination has yet taken place and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of death.”  He of course said this before the inconclusive test results came in.

Still searching for answers in regards to her tragic death on Saturday (July 23), the autopsy performed on Amy Winehouse failed to produce a cause of death.  According to a Metropolitan Police statement made Monday (July 25), the death is still “inconclusive” while it has been said that “further toxicology tests are needed and the results are expected in two to four weeks.”

The St. Pancras Coroner’s officer, Sharon Duff, told press that Amy may have been dead up to six hours before being found at 4PM and that “the scene was investigated by police and determined non-suspicious.”

She added of Amy during a court hearing, “She was a singer songwriter at the time of her death and was identified by her family here at St. Pancras this morning.”  As for burial plans, a private family service could be held as soon as tomorrow (July 26), according to AP sources.

It seems to me that there is some conflicting information and we may never get the full and true story.  Regardless, this is tragic and only brings to light how serious and devastating the disease of drug addiction is as it has taken yet another amazing musician from us this weekend.
