With the new season’s of our favorite shows just around the corner (yes it’s almost September!) the September issue of Vogue chose the cast of Glee for a fabulous pictorial.
The feature showcases a more sophisticated Glee cast and read about their role as this year’s spokespeople for “Fashion’s Night Out,” which is an important event organized by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to celebrate style and fashion. There’s an amazing range of photos depicting our favorite television stars in some and the accompanying interview is quite telling.
Chris Colfer who plays the fashionably fabulous Kurt confessed,
“When ‘Glee’ started, I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was. In no way was I a fashion person! Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce!”
Creator Ryan Murphy also commented on the fashion end of the show-
“From the beginning, I asked the costume designer to give each of these kids an archetypal identity. We didn’t want them to look like generic mall kids. Now their looks are being copied!”
Mr. Colfer is joined by his costars Lea Michele, Dianna Agron, Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, Jessalyn Gilsig, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, and Jenna Ushkowitz among others.
Interesting, their characters do not actually portray how these actors dress up in real life. Take for Example, Lea Michelle, who plays Rachel Berry. Michelle, unlike Berry’s preppy style, has earned recognition for her glamorous red carpet appearances.
